Hibiscus

This flower represents the heart of Hawai'i. It is a symbol of culture, hospitality, and beauty. The yellow hibiscus is the state flower of Hawai'i. It is called “Ma’o hau hele” in 'ōleleo Hawai'i. They are all over campus and are big and beautiful.

Liliko'i (Passion Fruit)

  • Popular Island Fruit. Vigorous vine, producing seasonal beautiful abundant flowers and great eating fruit. 
  • Juicy yellow-orange sweet flesh with edible black seeds.

Noni Tree
  • Brought to Hawaii by canoe over 1,000 years ago with the first Polynesian Voyagers
  • One of the Main Healers among the traditional Hawaiian medicinal plants

Acai Palm

  • Considered a superfood, acai is a good source of antioxidants, fiber and heart healthy fats.
  • Typically grown in the Amazon rainforest. Kahulu Farms is proud to bring you the first Hawaiian Grown Aci Bowl that we know of. We planted our seeds in 2009 and had our first farm harvest in 2016.
  • Unlike a blueberry, Acai berries need to be carefully processed before using.

Soursop
  • Contrary to its name, this large, spiny, green tropical fruit is sweet with a white flesh.
  • Thrives in warm, high-humidity and low altitude areas.

Dragon Eye (Longan) The little brother of lychee. 


Kokoleka (Cacao) 

  • Native to Central America, cacao was introduced to Hawaii around 1850.
  • Cacao is the purest form of chocolate you can consume.
